Sara Ward, R.Ac., has been practicing acupuncture for over 15 years and is the owner and founder of The Village Community Acupuncture in East Vancouver. Having graduated from ICTCMV in 2010, she is a Certified Balance System Acupuncture Practitioner (Level 9) with advanced training in the Eight Extraordinary Vessels & Channels for psycho-emotional pain. Sara also holds a Pediatric Essentials & ADHD Certificate (2016), and is the co-author of Yin Yang Reset, a guide that reflects her extensive training in TCM nutrition and food-as-medicine practices.
Sara’s clinical focus includes:
- Hormonal health: from first menstruation to perimenopause and beyond, she helps patients fine tune cycles and balance hormones.
- Sleep health & Insomnia: Sara uses evidence-based acupuncture to restore deep rest and daytime vitality.
- Fertility, Labour prep & Pediatric care: provides individualized support for every stage of the parenting journey.
- Gut health & digestion: Sara offers acupuncture and nutrition tools to heal digestion and improve absorption.
- Mindset & motivation: uses acupuncture to build clarity, focus, and resilience.
- Mental health & psycho-emotional support: offers trauma-informed care for anxiety, depression, and emotional stress.
- Migraines & headaches: uses targeted protocols proven to reduce frequency and intensity.
- Pain & musculoskeletal conditions: offers channel-theory-informed treatments for acute and chronic pain.
Sara’s patients know her as a problem solver who meets them with intuition, empathy, and humour: a mix that makes space for both laughter and tears in the healing process. She will sit with you in the scariest, darkest, most uncertain of times and hold you in the certainty of healing.
Away from the clinic, she’s a proud hockey mom, cookbook collector who rarely follows recipes, beachgoer, forest wanderer, SUP enthusiast, and unapologetic fan of early nights and quiet mornings.
