What is STRENGTH?

To most people it is a goal to hit. It is muscles, it is brawn, it is perseverance, it is something to be measured against others.

I have had the pleasure of working at the front desk at Sitka for almost a year now and I have seen strength is so many other ways.

Here at Sitka Physio and Wellness we look at strength on so many different levels.  Physical strength is only just a part of it. I’ve watched our practitioners work what I see as genuine magic with clients here. They don’t just look at an injury, they look at you. You as a person living your day to day, with all the obstacles and the wins you have with it. What factors are contributing to why you have come to visit us? We don’t just have physiotherapists but fellow human beings on this planet and we see you and can hold space for you. We have so many avenues to explore your own strength within.

Helen Ries has grown and nurtured her practice with strong patient connections and elevated the clinic to new heights with her passion to help others and her ability to curate and cultivate the right energy of practitioners to carry her vision.

Elizabeth McLatchie brings another layer of care to her practice by digging deeper and works with you and not just your physical abilities but your strength of mind to help you get to your wellness goals.

Steve Nairn brings you his breadth of knowledge, but also his resiliency to help you get to the root of your issue bringing his myofascial techniques into practice.

Now, don’t let these descriptors fool you. It doesn’t matter which physio you see at our clinic, you will always get the same level of care. Helen holds skill share sessions so practitioners can learn from each other on how they approach patients and patient care. And this isn’t just for physios but for all the practitioners here.

Let me get to more of the meat of what our clinic can do.

We currently have 3 amazing in-house RMT’s with  Sarah Campion, Bahareh Poureslami and Thomas Fang who all approach their practice by listening not just to the information you verbally give us but, by the way your body responds on the massage table.

Yoga-therapy and Integral Breath Therapy with our amazing Rani Sanghera is yet another unique service here. Rani creates a safe space to dive as deep as you are willing into your own body and heal the things we can’t see.

We also have our very own virtual counsellor Geoff Straw who teaches you to reconnect your neuropathways in more productive and beneficial ways.

And about our TCM trained acupuncturists? So glad you asked! Sara and Yvonne have an ability to see your body outside of itself to see your meridians. Sara and Yvonne have extensive knowledge of women’s health and how TCM can help with your cycle and how it affects you. Yvonne also offers cupping to help aid her in being able to help increase the flow of your Qi.

I can’t explain how unique this clinic is enough. I have a passion to help people and being able to work here has afforded me the ability to be able to do so from the minute you enter the door with our amazing administration team.

Our strength as individuals comes from our ability to connect to others and to ourselves. I think the way Sitka embodies strength is something we can all learn from.

So come on in and let us help you find your strength today!
