FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the easiest way to find your clinic?
We’re located right next to Burrard Station. Enter the Royal Centre from Melville Street, turn left once inside, and you’ll find us at the bottom of the staircase—right beside Cookie’s by George.
Do you have parking?
We don’t have dedicated parking, but there’s metered street parking nearby, as well as underground parking in the Royal Centre (our building).
What should I expect for my first physiotherapy session at Sitka?
Your first session begins with a conversation about what’s bringing you in, your health history, and how your body is feeling day to day. Your physiotherapist will do an assessment, which may include observing movement, gentle hands-on testing, or other approaches depending on your needs. Together, you’ll decide on a care plan that may include manual therapy, movement practices, or other treatments. We’ll always check in and adapt as you go.
Do you offer direct billing for insurance?
Yes! We offer direct billing to most major insurance providers. You can upload your insurance information to your Jane account ahead of your appointment, or bring your card or policy details with you.
What insurance companies do you direct bill?
Some of the most common ones we bill include Canada Life, Sun Life, Manulife, Pacific Blue Cross, and Green Shield. You can review our list here or reach out to check if you are unsure if yours is available.
What should I wear to my appointment?
In general, wear comfortable layered clothing you can move in––especially for physio, yoga, and kinesiology. If you’re coming right from work or forget clothes, we have clean gym clothes you can borrow.
What should I wear for my running assessment?
Wear comfortable running clothes and the shoes you normally run in.
Should I book more than one appointment at a time?
Yes, especially if you’re working with a care plan or have a preferred time slot. Many of our practitioners have a waitlist anywhere from one week to three months.
Do you take ICBC claims?
Yes, we accept ICBC claims.
Do you take WSBC/WCB cases?
Unfortunately, we do not accept WSBC/WCB claims at this time.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. Any changes or cancellations made after that window will be charged in full.
Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a physiotherapist?
No, not for us! However, some insurance plans and certain older ICBC claims may require one.
Are you open on the weekends?
We are currently not open on weekends. Please let us know if this is something you’d like to see in the future.
