What to Expect During a Sports Physiotherapy Treatment

If it’s our first time meeting you, we would usually spend a bit more time together getting to know you and all the different types of sport and activities you do. That means we typically will need a 60-minute assessment for first-time clients. During the first sports assessment, we will be looking head to toe checking in on flexibility, strength, alignment and muscle balance by doing a variety of tests and exercises. After that, we will provide you with a summary of our findings and a thoughtfully developed treatment plan that is customized to your needs. And if you are curious, you can also expect a full and complete explanation of your injury and your prognosis.

If it’s a follow up from a previous assessment, usually 30 mins will do the trick. Here we will check in on your progress and realign your plan to make sure the exercises we provided are being executed correctly and work for your lifestyle. However, if things aren’t working or if you are experiencing a change in the injury, we will redevelop your plan to better work for your current situation. The best part is because you are a returning client you can quickly book this appointment online or call in if you prefer.

If this is a new injury altogether, depending on how well we know you, we may need either 30 mins or 60 mins, but don’t worry both types of assessments are covered under most health care plans. If ever you are unsure or if your issue is complex, do give us a call so we can help you decide on the most appropriate course of assessment and treatment.
