What To Expect During A Golf Assessment
If it’s our first time meeting you, we would usually spend a bit more time together getting to know you, your golfing style and your lifestyle. This means typically will need a 60-minute assessment for first-time clients. During your initial assessment, a TPI specialist will perform a full head to toe assessment that taking a look at:
- Any physical limitations and dysfunctional movement patterns which may limit your performance
- Assess any injuries that are limiting your play
- Provide feedback on any prehabilitative injury prevention such as individualized offseason programs, warm-ups
- Tips and tricks on how to improve the consistency/efficiency of your swing
- Tips and tricks on how to increase the longevity of your game
TPI does not believe in one way to swing a club, rather in an infinite number of swing styles. But, we do believe there is one efficient way for every player to swing and it is based on what the player can physically do.
The most efficient swing is not the same for every golfer, because efficiency is unique to their body. To achieve an efficient swing, a golfer must first be screened. This screen involves an assessment of swing mechanics and bio-mechanics, physical fitness, movement quality, current health and client history. Once this screen is finished, the results are used to create a plan unique for that golfer. The plan may include fitness training, physical therapy, and treatment, coaching of swing mechanics and bio-mechanics, nutrition, mental strategy or all of the above.
